Transformation Journey to Retirement
My own story was that I worked in various places throughout my career and had to retire earlier than I had originally planned. Though the planning was off, I still had to weave my way from being a working man to being retired. The transition was not as easy as it might first appear.
For example, the time alone that was now suddenly available to me was hard to figure out what to do with it. I worked a lot on this and got busy doing other things. Things that I had put off doing, I made lists and I am working through them now.
Included on these lists were health, wealth and social lifestyle. All areas need to be addressed. So I first began working on my health. It has always served me well starting from where I am first and then moving forward to where I want to go. I then worked on my passions. I wanted to write a book. I recently completed the first draft of a manuscript which I hope someday will be my first novel. In addition, I am passionate about coaching.

Offering Solutions: My Approach To Retirement Coaching
What is the difference between Counselling and Coaching? Counselling is a very good form of therapy. It allows the client to talk about their experiences and their feelings about the past in the hope that they can learn from and change over time. Coaching is about starting from where you are to work out where you want to go and how you want to get there. A Coach is there to support and challenge you to keep you focused on your goals and support you as you work through any obstacles that might arise. Retirement Coaching in particular is about helping you through the opportunities and challenges of retirement and help you develop good planning for social and mental changes ahead of you.
As a client, your goals and plans are central to the process, my role is to keep you on track to meet those goals and to be in your corner along the way. Through our coaching, I will:
- help you identify your goals.
- help you set plans to meet them.
- Take a deep dive into what might be holding you back
- Identify your core supports
- Stay in your corner till you achieve those goals.
